Francesca Thomson

Following my graduation from Liverpool University in 2013 I worked in both General Practice and in the Community Service in Scarborough for 2 years where I completed my foundation and core dental training. During this time I gained experience in treating anxious patients, children and patients with complex medical histories. I continued core training for a year with the maxillofacial team in Liverpool before starting to work in the children’s department of the Dental Hospital of Manchester where I have worked for over 2 years. This work has involved the dental care of children, providing advanced treatments and treating patients under sedation. These experiences have given me extensive experience of treating children and anxious patients.

I now work at Dentistry for All in addition to maintaining one day a week at the Dental Hospital and one day a week working towards a Postgraduate Research degree. I enjoy teaching and hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in the Clinical Context.

Outside of work I enjoy sports, baking, cycling and performing with my local amateur dramatic company.
