Ian Redfearn

BDS Newcastle 1990 DPDS 2005 MSc 2016

I qualified at Newcastle in 1990 and moved to this practice as an associate in 1991, becoming a partner in 2003.

I am committed to developing my skills as a dentist and have gained a number of further qualifications including a DPDS (Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies) from Bristol in 2005 and an MSc with distinction in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry from Manchester University in 2016. This allows me to offer several options to help improve your smile and approach the most difficult and challenging cases with confidence.

I have developed an interest in orthodontics, including clear aligner and lingual orthodontics (where the braces are hidden behind the teeth)

I have had a number of other roles in dentistry locally and nationally helping other dentists in various stages of their career, including as an Educational Supervisor for newly qualified dentists.

I have been involved with ‘Mercy Ships’ dental outreaches (www.mercyships.org.uk) in West Africa and Lithuania and numerous trips to Tanzania with Bridge2Aid (www.bridge2aid.org).

Outside interests include music (listening, not playing), theatre (watching, not acting), food (cooking and eating!), photography, travel and time with my wife Sarah and two sons, Sam and Ben.
